Zusammenfassung:	<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>We report persistence of associated syringomyelia and formation of newly caudal spinal arachnoid diverticulum, following marsupialization surgery. We describe syringopleural shunt placement as a novel approach to treat both conditions in a Pug dog.</jats:p>
